Why This Reference Exists
Printed Hamilton County directories ended, yet the source records remain in separate systems. Property ownership is divided among the Hamilton County Assessor, GIS, and Recorder. Election information follows Indiana law. Older city and criss-cross volumes sit with the Crossroads Discovery Center, Indiana State Library, and digital collections. We bring the verified portals, office contacts, date ranges, and access limits together without pretending those sources form one household list.
What the Directory Includes
- Different search angles: address-based records, historical directory shelves, and a careful one-person verification path
- Named Hamilton County custodians: the Assessor, Recorder, Election Office, Clerk, health departments, and Crossroads Discovery Center
- Practical methods: reading a parcel, following a deed chain, checking a directory edition, and bridging an old street name
- Indiana access limits: the records that are open, the fields that stay protected, and the APRA fallback for material not online
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately operated reference, not part of Hamilton County, the State of Indiana, a court, library, or records office. Those boundaries mean:
- We do not confirm that a named person now lives at a Hamilton County address
- We cannot retrieve, certify, amend, or interpret an official record for a requester
- We have no power to add or remove a name from a public database
- We do not provide legal advice on title, privacy, access, or record disputes
- We cannot guarantee that a portal, fee, office detail, or collection range has not changed
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
